PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire a user's document operation history and search for a related document by using the document operation history information even when documents and information are managed under multiple and different systems and applications. SOLUTION: The information processing apparatus includes: a document operation event acquiring section for acquiring the document operation event information representing the information related to an event of an document operation performed by a user on a client; a document operation event managing section 103 for managing the document operation event information acquired by the document operation event acquiring section; and a related document extracting section 104 for extracting a document related to a designated document based on the document operation event information managed by the document operation event managing section 103.
