PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patching/coating method which enables an easy and beautiful finish of a blurry portion in a boundary part of a part undergoing patching/coating and its periphery part in a patching/coating work for an automobile car body using a masking tape. SOLUTION: The patching/coating method of the automobile car body comprises steps of covering the periphery of a coating part required for patching/coating of a car body surface with a curing sheet, attaching the masking tape one side of which is adhered with an adhesive to a boundary part of the coating part and the curing sheet, and spraying a paint on the coating part. In an attachment process of the masking tape, a constant width portion on a coating part side of the masking tape does not attach to the car body surface, and in a spraying process of the paint, the paint is sprayed from the coating part side and from slanting above the masking tape, with the constant width portion of the masking tape inclined to be floated from the car body surface.
