PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing unit capable of preventing toner from infiltrating between each of bearings and the shaft of a supply roller, and to provide an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: Auxiliary shaft members 52 are attached to the supply roller shaft 32 of the supply roller 28. The supply roller 28 is rotatably supported, by bearing members 40 mounted on a casing 22 via the auxiliary shaft members 52. Flanges 56 are formed on the auxiliary shaft members 52. The flanges prevents toner moved along the shaft of the supply roller 28 from infiltrating between the internal circumferential face of the cylindrical part 42 of each of the bearing members 40 and the peripheral face of the cylindrical part 54 of each of the auxiliary shaft members 52.
