<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light wavelength multiplexing network which uses an AOTF and has good reliability and cost effectiveness, and a device therefor. <P>SOLUTION: An OADM system uses an AOTF 10 when constituting an OADM device. The AOTF can select an arbitrary wavelength by varying the frequency of an RF signal to be applied. An optical signal of specified wavelength can be dropped from a wavelength multiplex optical signal from an input and a wavelength multiplex signal input from an Add port can be multiplexed with a through optical signal. Taking an increase in coherent crosstalk into consideration here, the AOTF is realistically used only for dropping in actual device configuration.
