<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus where a surface-back surface color difference in double-sided manuscript printing can be reduced. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a double-sided printing mode execution means of executing a double-sided printing mode for printing a double-sided manuscript on both the sides of recording paper; and a calibration determination means for determining whether calibration for color adjustment in a color printer part is executed. The apparatus further includes a calibration execution means of executing calibration in the case calibration is executed. The apparatus further includes: a first printing means where, after executing calibration, a surface image in a double-sided manuscript is printed on the surface of recording paper; and a second printing means where, successively to the printing of the surface image by the first printing means, a back surface image is printed on the back surface of the recording paper.
