<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt-based composite powder for a positive electrode material of a lithium secondary battery, which can simultaneously achieve improvement of load characteristics such as rate/output characteristics, cost reduction, resistance to high voltage, and high safety. <P>SOLUTION: This lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt-based composite powder for a positive electrode material of a lithium rechargeable battery is represented by the following composition formula (I), formed by including a crystalline structure belonging to a layered structure, wherein, in powder X-ray diffraction measurement using a CuKα-ray, when it is assumed that the half-value width of the (110) diffraction peak where a diffraction angle 2θ is present around 64.5° is FWHM(110), 0.01≤FWHM(110)≤0.2 is satisfied. Li[Li<SB>z/(2+z)</SB>ä(Ni<SB>(1+y)/2</SB>Mn<SB>(1-y)/2</SB>)<SB>1-x</SB>Co<SB>x</SB>}<SB>2/(2+z)</SB>]O<SB>2</SB>...(I), where 0≤x≤0.1, -0.1≤y≤0.1, and (1-x)(0.05-0.98y)≤z≤(1-x)(0.15-0.88y). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
