PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communication systems using mesh network topologies, where nodes can communicate to each other without the need for a central point (e.g., a wireless Base Station [BS] or an Access Point [AP]), to relay the information. SOLUTION: The wireless communication device implements a control node for a mesh network. The performance of communication systems with mesh or semi-mesh topologies where none or distributed decisions exist, is improved by relaying system information and taking reconfiguration decisions in a central point.
