PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record a communication content in the case that either of a plurality of communication terminals to communicate in a half-duplex PTT communication system has rights to talk. SOLUTION: The communication terminal is provided with a sound input portion, a data transmitter to transmit sound data whose sound has been encoded, a data receiver, a sound output portion to output the sound whose sound data has been decoded, a communication mode setting portion to set a communication mode of the communication terminal to one of a receiving mode, a transmission mode and a neutral mode, a recorder to record the sound input by the sound input portion or the sound output by the sound output portion, and a recording controller. The recording controller makes the recorder record the sound output by the sound output portion in the case that the communication mode is set to the receiving mode, makes the recorder record the sound input by the sound input portion in the case that the communication mode is set to the transmission mode, and stops the recording of the sound by the recorder when the communication mode is set to the neutral mode.
