PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver capable of suppressing power consumption low by stopping a reserving function when deciding that a user is absent from home for a long period. SOLUTION: A CPU 21 of the television receiver 1 wherein a reserving function section 20 is in operation turns on a power supply section 13 at reservation time and makes a counter 26 counts up when no operation is accepted before the lapse of time from the turning-on operation point reaches a previously set predetermined time. When a detecting means detects an operation section 28 or remote operation section 202 accepting operation, the CPU 21 clears the count value of the counter 26. When the CPU 21 decides that the count value of the counter 26 exceeds a threshold, the CPU stops the reserving function section 20 and turns off the power supply section 13.
