<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce torque variation of an alternator pulley by shifting variation cycles of power generation load torque and input torque from an engine side acting on the alternator pulley. <P>SOLUTION: When a power generation control signal is input (turned on) with a delay time T with respect to a crank angle signal SGT, an alternator 7 is switched from a low load state (stop of power generation) to a high load state (working of power generation), and the variation cycle of the power generation load torque Gtq with respect to the variation cycle of the input torque tq is controlled so that the power generation load torque Gtq by power generation load becomes maximum in accordance with a time period when the input torque tq transmitted to the alternator pulley 32 becomes maximum.
