PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treatment method for applying the most suitable surface treatment on the surface of a carbonate salt fine particle without detriment to the shape thereof, and to provide a resin composition comprising the fine particle. SOLUTION: The surface treatment method of the carbonate salt fine particle comprises a surface modification step for subjecting the carbonate salt fine particle to a wet treatment with a surface-modifier bearing a carboxy group and a dispersion step for surface-treating the salt in the presence of a dispersant by a dispersing machine.
