PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flame retardant masterbatch, which contains neither a chlorine-containing compound nor a bromine-containing compound, has excellent handleability, exhibits excellent dispersibility when added to a resin and highly balanced in mechanical properties, good molding appearance, heat stability, heat resistance and flame retardance. SOLUTION: The flame retardant masterbatch comprises a phenol-based resin (A) and a phosphazene compound (B) in the mixing ratio of 99-30 pts.wt. of the component (A) and 1-70 pts.wt. of the component (B) based on 100 pts.wt. of the total of the component (A) and the component (B).
