PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fan motor wherein a coil and an electronic component provided therein can be cooled. SOLUTION: When an impeller 5 is rotated in the fan motor 1, a main flow F1 going mainly in the radial direction is produced around the vanes 13 provided on the impeller 5. The impeller 5 is provided at its boss portion 7 with an air inlet hole 31 communicating with the center opening 27a of a magnet 27. Therefore, a side flow F3 going into the fan motor 1 through the air inlet hole 31 is produced at this time. This side flow F3 goes through the center opening 27a of the magnet 27 and arrives at a circuit board 19. Then, it is pulled by the main flow F1 and goes in the radial direction along the surface of the circuit board 19. Therefore, a coil, a Hall element, a drive IC, and other electronic components mounted on the circuit board 19 can be cooled. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
