PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication apparatus which is improved in communication speed and communication quality by applying a modulation system, such as a QAM system, an OFDM system, etc, which contains an amplitude variation component, to the transmission of reflected waves through a simple circuit. SOLUTION: The radio communication apparatus is equipped with a power supply characteristics changing means which changes the power supply characteristics of the antenna of a communication system, a radiation characteristics changing means which changes the radiation characteristics of the antenna, and a reflecting means which reflects and emits the electric power supplied through an antenna. The radio communication apparatus is capable of achieving an amplitude level change for generating QAM signals or OFDM signals with the reflected waves using configurations that change power supply characteristics or radiation characteristics according to transmission information. Power supply characteristics or radiation characteristics can be changed by changing directivity, which indicates the characteristics of an antenna to radio waves, or a plane of polarization.
