PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus which can perform image processing satisfactorily and whose manufacturing cost is reduced. SOLUTION: Monochromatic line data is read by being divided into front line data and rear line data, an image processing part 5 performs image processing of the front line data, an image processing part 6 performs image processing of the rear line data, and the data are subsequently synthesized. The image processing part 5 adds a portion of pixels of the rear line data to the front line data to perform image processing. The image processing part 6 adds a portion of pixels of the front line data to the rear line data to perform image processing. Thus, the number of line buffers to be used is reduced so that a manufacturing cost can be reduced and that image processing can be performed satisfactorily even at a boundary part between the front line data and the rear line data.
