PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which partially increases resolution of a first image picked up by an imaging means than the first image and displays the images. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus displays the first image picked up by the imaging means 105 and a second image corresponding to the partial area of the first image on a display means 122, and the imaging apparatus includes: a segmenting means 16 for segmenting the partial area of the first image; a super-resolution processing means 117 for generating a third image having higher resolution than the first image from the second image corresponding to the partial area of the first image segmented by the segmenting means; and control means 118 and 121 for causing the display means to display the third image together with the first image.
