<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display having a preferable contrast ratio performance. <P>SOLUTION: The display comprises a back substrate 101 and a front substrate 110, a liquid crystal layer 107 disposed in between the back substrate and the front substrate, and a reflection area 120, facing the surface of the liquid crystal layer facing the back substrate for illuminating the liquid crystal layer, by reflecting a light incident from the outside toward the liquid crystal layer. The reflecting area comprises an array of a plurality of concave reflection curved surfaces 103 made of a first medium on the side facing the front substrate, a scatter 105, disposed away from the concave reflection curved surfaces, toward the front substrate, and a second medium layer 106 formed on the concave reflection curved surfaces of the first medium layer 104 for fixing the scatter, with respect to the concave reflection curved surfaces. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
