PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating method sufficiently demonstrating an elution reducing action against pollutants containing multiple toxic heavy metals, and keeping pH of the treated elution liquid near a neutral range. SOLUTION: This heavy metal elution reducing material comprises ferrous chloride and hydrotalcite, a blending mass ratio of ferrous chloride with hydrotalcite being within the range of 10:90 to 70:30.
