<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent image quality deterioration when a bitmap image is subjected to lossy compression in PDL (page description language) processing. <P>SOLUTION: In this image processing method having an inputting means for inputting image data composed of a plurality of objects, a developing means for developing the objects to bitmap image data, a generating means for generating attribute information on the basis of the developed bitmap image data and attributes of the objects, an image processing means for performing predetermined image processing on the basis of the attribute information generated by the generating means, and a compressing means for performing nonreversible compression of the developed bitmap image, in the attribute information, at least one attribute showing a specific color is defined, a pixel value of a pixel having the color defined from the bitmap image by the attribute information with the attribute information is replaced before the compressing means performs nonreversible compression, and the attribute showing the specific color is added to an attribute signal corresponding to the replaced pixel of the attribute information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
