<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer cartridge that surely performs both the toner remainder detection and the communication of cartridge information, having a small footprint, and to provide an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 has the cartridge 20, having a toner receptacle 23 and an apparatus body 11. The cartridge 20 is attached to the body 11 for use, in supplying the developer in the toner receptacle 23 for development. The cartridge 20 is arranged in the toner receptacle 23 and has a storage device 25, having functions for communication with the body 11.
