<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalytic material capable of burning soot at low temperature without corroding a honeycomb structure on which the catalytic material is deposited and to provide a method for manufacturing the catalytic material, and the catalytic material-deposited honeycomb structure. <P>SOLUTION: The catalytic material 1 is composed of a base material particle 11 consisting of alumina, an alkali layer 12 which is formed on the base material particle and consists of alkaline alkali salt, and a plurality of fine particles 13 which are dispersed on the base material particle 11 and each of which consists of silver oxide or silver carbonate. The method for manufacturing the catalytic material comprises: a mixing step of mixing a silver nitrate aqueous solution in an alumina sol to obtain a mixture and further mixing alkali carbonate or alkali hydroxide in the obtained mixture to obtain a dispersion liquid in the water of which the catalytic material is dispersed; and a drying step of separating the catalytic material from the obtained dispersion liquid and drying the separated catalytic material.
