PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the work of fixing a subject on a topboard. SOLUTION: The medical diagnostic imaging unit is provided with the topboard 41 where the subject P is placed, fixing belts 42A-42D for fixing the subject P on the topboard 41, a holding means which so holds the individual fixing belts 42A-42D as to erect some of the fixing belts 42A-42D each keeping one end connected to the shorter hand end part of the top board 41 with respect to the surface of the top board 41 on which the subject is placed. The holding means holding the fixing belts 42A being erected comprises rails 44a and 44b disposed along the length of the top board 41 apart at a prescribed distance, sliders 45a and 45b moving respectively along the rails 44a and 44b, an auxiliary belt 42A', a coupling member 46 for coupling the fixing belt 42A and the auxiliary belt 42A' and a surface fastener 47.
