PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating liquid for forming a sun radiation shielding film, which is applicable to existing base materials, capable of forming a film at an ordinary temperature and gives a high sun radiation shielding property and an excellent film strength. SOLUTION: The coating liquid for forming the sun radiation shielding film comprises a binder component, a diluent solvent, a curing catalyst and a near-IR shielding component. At least one of the binder component is a reaction product obtained by mixing an alkoxysilane containing a glycydoxy propyl group and an alkoxysilane containing an aminopropyl group and allowing them to react. The near-IR shielding component is prepared by mixing a complex tungsten oxide having a mean particle size of≤200 nm, at least one selected from hexaboride having a mean particle size of≤200 nm, and fine particles of at least one kind of ATO and ITO each having a mean particle size of≤200 nm.
