METHOD FOR PRODUCING RETARDATION FILM, RETARDATION FILM AND ITS USE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a norbornene resin-containing retardation film having an optical axis in a transverse direction, excellent in reciprocal wavelength dispersion property even after stretching and having a small NZ coefficient, to provide a method for producing the retardation film, and to provide a film roll comprising the retardation film.

SOLUTION: The method for producing the retardation film includes stretching a norbornene resin-containing film under a specific temperature condition in a range of 2-5 times in the width direction of the film roll to thereby obtain the retardation film having reciprocal wavelength dispersion property and having an optical axis in a transverse direction of the film roll.
