PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of a four-wheel drive vehicle for reducing tooth hitting sounds generating by idle gears in a transmission in the four-wheel drive vehicle capable of being selectively switched to a two-wheel drive by a switching device. SOLUTION: When the rotational speed N<SB>E</SB>of an engine 14 becomes the torsional resonance generation area of the drive system, a driving force output from the engine 14 is transmitted to a rear wheel 34 through a propeller shaft 28 and an electronic control coupling 12 by selecting a four-wheel drive mode with a four-wheel drive selection means 88. Rigidity of the member at the rear wheel side such as the propeller shaft 28 which is freely rotated in a two-wheel drive mode is increased by being switched to the four-drive mode. The torsional resonance in the torsional resonance generation area of the drive system is suppressed thereby and the tooth hitting sounds of the idle gears 46 can be suppressed.
