<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical console available for the training of inexperienced surgeons and surgical staff by providing realistic surgical scenes. <P>SOLUTION: The surgical console can be provided with a processing module, an external interface, a simulation module and a user interface. The processing module directs the action of peripheral equipment connected with the surgical console. The peripheral equipment can include controls such as foot switches or other similar controls (not limited to them), surgical instruments such as surgical microscopes (not limited to them) and training surgical cutting machines and other tools. The processing module can monitor operation parameters and surgical modes related to the training surgical procedures.
