<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the number of revolutions of a motor from being excessively increased when a power to be output to a power shaft can not be transmitted to a driving shaft by a transmission, in a power output device equipped with a motor which outputs a power to a power shaft and a transmission which transmits a power to be outputted to the power shaft to a driving shaft. <P>SOLUTION: When a hydraulic pressure Piol applied to a clutch or a brake corresponding to the target gear stage of a transmission is less than a threshold Pref1 required for engaging the clutch or the brake (S150, S160), the gate interruption of an invertor which drives the motor is operated (S240).
