<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system comprising a host device and a printer, which has high security and convenience for so-called security printing and can be constructed relatively inexpensively. <P>SOLUTION: In the printing system including the host device for receiving a print request to generate print data to be printed and the printer for executing printing based on the print data, the host device encrypts the generated print data by a first decryption key generated from a user password and stores the encrypted print data into a portable memory together with a second decryption key different from the first decryption key and encrypts the user password by the second decryption key and transmits the encrypted user password to the printer, and the printer decrypts the transmitted user password by the second decryption key stored in the portable memory and decrypts the print data stored in the portable memory by the first decryption key generated from the user password. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
