<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intrusion detection system capable of suppressing any erroneous detection of intrusion by reducing the leakage of the radio wave from a predetermined range. <P>SOLUTION: The intrusion detection system comprises a transmitter 12 arranged in a vicinity of a center in a vehicle of the vehicle width direction for transmitting the radio wave in the LF zone, and a detector 14 which is arranged inside a lining of a vehicle door inside the vehicle, and detects the intensity of the electric field at least in one axis, and receives the radio wave in the LF zone from the transmitter 12. The intensity of the electric field detected by the detector 14 immediately after the start of the warning set for intrusion detection is stored as the threshold. Thereafter, the intrusion from the outside to the inside of the vehicle is detected based on the result of comparison between the threshold on the intensity of the electric field in any axis and the value detected by the detector 14.
