PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner convenient for a user, which maintains electronic equipment within a shelter at an appropriate temperature in deference to energy saving without wasteful cooling and heating operation, and also to provide a shelter with the air conditioner. SOLUTION: The air conditioner comprises: a setting means 53 for optionally setting a room temperature set value for cooling operation and a room temperature set value for heating operation in automatic cooling and heating operation, respectively; and a control means comparing the room temperature set values for cooling and heating operation set by the setting means 53 with the room temperature to perform switching of cooling and heating operations.
