PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a surface wave propagating means to transmit a surface wave radiated from a transmitter-side coupling electrode efficiently with low propagation loss. SOLUTION: At tip portions of surface wave transmission line pieces fitted to an electrode for transmission and an electrode for reception respectively, a mechanism is provided which aligns the electrodes so that electrostatic coupling is generated and also holds the positions. The position holding mechanism is constituted by using attacting operation of a magnet, or a mechanical shape of a hook, a screw, etc. An end surface of a surface wave propagation line fitted to the coupling electrode is positioned and the position can easily be held during data communication to stabilize the communication rate.
