PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boxer shorts type disposable diaper, capable of effectively preventing breakage of the diaper as it is worn, suppressing pain occurring while walking, and providing favorable feel of wearing. SOLUTION: The shorts-type disposable diaper 1 is composed of a front part 2, a crotch part 4, and a back part 6. A lower end of a sheet member (front part sheet 30) composing the front part 2 and a lower end of a sheet member (back part sheet 32) composing the back part 6 are extended downward below the crotch part 4. Inside edge parts and outside edge parts of the front part sheet 30 and the back part sheet 32 and the crotch part are joined with each other to form inside junction parts 8b, outside junction parts 8a, a crotch underside junction part 8c, a waist opening part 10, a pair of leg opening part 12a and 12b, and leg covering parts 24a and 24b.
