The device has thermoelectric modules (4, 5) that are connected in series, and circuit arrangements (6, 7) connected parallel to the modules, where the modules are designed as peltier-units and attached to a peltier-heat pump of a laundry dryer. The circuit arrangements are designed in such a manner that the electric current flow through the circuit arrangements in case of failure of the modules. The circuit arrangements comprise negative temperature coefficient-resistors (61, 71) and a switch that is designed as temperature switch.
