Multi-phase detergent or cleaning material tablets (I) comprising a base tablet with a bulge on the top, partly covered by a core tablet with a recess in its surface, put together so that the bulge on the base tablet locks into the recess in the core tablet. An independent claim is included for a method for the production of these tablets (I) by making a base tablet with a bulge on top, making a core tablet with a recess and bringing the two together so that the bulge fits into the recess.
