DRUM TYPE WASHING MACHINE

A frontloading washing machine is provided to reduce relatively long amplitude of vibration at the front part of a water tank by using a first friction damper and to reduce relatively short amplitude of vibration at the rear part of the water tank by using a second friction damper. A frontloading washing machine comprises a water tank(20), a rotary tub(30), and a friction damper. The water tank is suspended in a housing(10). The rotary tub, having a drive motor(40) at the center of rear surface, rotates in the water tank. One end of the friction damper is installed at an outer surface of the water tank and the other end is installed at the housing to reduce vibration of the water tank. The friction damper is composed of a first friction damper(60), and a second friction damper(70). The first friction damper supports a front end of the water tank and reduces vibration transmitted from the water tank using friction. The second friction damper supports a rear end of the water tank and reduces vibration transmitted from the water tank using friction only when the amplitude of vibration is over a predetermined level.
