Skylight with prefabricated frame, hood and flashing

A skylight includes a prefabricated frame 21 and a prefabricated hood 27 that are assembled together to form the skylight. The frame is constructed as a rectangular frame of extruded sections 21 which each include a pair of closely spaced projecting flanges that accept and retain the edge of flashing elements 16 pre-assembled to the frame. When the skylight is installed on a roof the flashing elements are integrated with the roofing material to provide a wind and watertight seal between the roofing cladding and the skylight.
