An electrode plate for a battery, and a lithium secondary battery containing the electrode plate are provided to improve battery capacity and cycle characteristics. An electrode plate(1) for a battery comprises a current collector which comprises a substrate(11), and a plurality of projection parts(12) supported on the substrate; and an active material layer(20) supported on the current collector, wherein the projection parts comprise a conductive material which can be deformed by sintering more easily, compared with the substrate. Preferably the projection part has a height of 1-16 micrometers and comprises copper having a purity of 99.9 wt% or more; and the substrate is at least one selected from the group consisting of nickel foil, stainless steel foil and copper foil.
