The device (200) has a receiving device (210) for receiving appropriate phase information of a signal for each localization antenna (102a-102d), where the phase information indicates a phase of a signal portion in an antenna signal, which is produced as a reaction to localization activation by a passive transponder. A combination device (220) combines the phase information of the received signals to receive relative phase positions of the received signals. A position determining device (230) computes the information about an object-position from the relative phase positions.
