<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate the abnormality of a motor as quickly as possible. <P>SOLUTION: If a temperature around an exposure unit 50 which is detected by a temperature sensor 6 is higher than a prescribed temperature, a CPU 111 determines that the operation environment of a polygon motor 53 is better than a prescribed level, and sets a discrimination permission time at a short value.
