A cable guide mechanism 200, for a ground anchor 100 which can be used in moving a stranded vehicle, is configured to be releasably attached to a shaft 10. The mechanism 200 includes a body portion 15, an indent or groove and a protrusion 17. The indent or groove is located on the opposite side of the body portion 15 to the protrusion 17, and is dimensioned and configured to releasably retain an inside edge of a first distal end of a loop 19 which is attached to a terminal end of a cable 18. The protrusion 17 is tapered with its widest section directly opposite the indent or groove, and the linear distance between the bottom of the indent or groove and the widest section of the protrusion 17 is sufficiently close to the inside length of the loop 19 that in use the first distal end of the loop 19 cannot climb out of the indent or groove. The shaft 10 is configured to freely rotate coaxially inside the cable guide mechanism 200. |
