The method involves providing a re-usable transportable container (1) e.g. color container, to be cleaned for a time sufficient for melting an adhering color and enamel residue into an immersion bath (2). The container is taken up from the immersion bath and is washed off inside and/or outside by a high-pressure water jet in a time period between 5 and 15 minutes. The container is mechanically arranged inside and/or outside with a tool from a media, and the container is finally washed off. The immersion bath is utilized with a liquid cleaning agent (20) with an ambient temperature.
