A balancer for frontloading washing machine is provided to minimize installation area for a balancer by forming a mount groove on which a rotating jig is located at an outer surface of a second balancer housing. A balancer(200) for a frontloading washing machine comprises a balancer housing, and a plurality of balls(230). The balancer housing consists of a first balancer housing(210) and a second balancer housing(220) connected with the first balancer housing. The first balancer housing has an engaging groove(212) and the second balancer housing has an engaging protrusion which is engaged with the engaging groove. A mount groove(224) on which a rotating jig is placed to assemble the first balancer housing with the second balancer housing is formed at an outer surface of the second balancer housing. The balls move on a lace formed on the balancer housing.
