<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup apparatus which is provided with two modes, that is, a full image mode and a single image mode, and selects either of the modes to simplify the operation and enhance operability. <P>SOLUTION: A digital camera 1 comprises: an external storage device 21 such as a flash memory for storing information; an image pickup device 22 acting as an entry section of image information such as an A/D converter or the like; a display apparatus 23 for various information items; an operation console 24 for carrying out external entry; a communication I/F section 25 for controlling an interface between the camera 1 and an external printer 2; and an entire controller 10 for controlling the entire digital camera.
