A sheet metal cladding with circumferentially spaced openings is provided about a lamp housing (2) and enclosed within circumferential array of cooling ducts defining another set of circumferentially spaced openings. Cooling air current is made to flow partially around the lamp housing through each opening of the cladding and then in parallel to the floodlight axis.
