The vehicle (1) has a transmission control system (6) unlockable/lockable at a frame of an anti-theft device functionality based on an information signal detected by a transmission side sensor. A request signal for a short-term rotary speed and torque rise, is provided over a communication line to an engine controller (5) by the system during a transmission (4) in a force-fit position. The controller controls the rotary speed and torque rise, and provides an actual rotary speed as the information signal to the system, which verifies the information signal based on a changed rotational speed.
