This invention relates to an alarm system suitable for location on the side of a closure means, such as a door or a window. The alarm system includes at least one unit located so as to detect movement or vibration of the closure member and each of which units includes motion detection means, and a transmission unit for transmission of a signal to a remotely located alarm control means in order to activate the alarm.
