<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder in which the state of a recording medium can be judged accurately based on the results of communication with an element provided in the recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The recorder loaded with a writer for reading/writing information into/from an element provided in a recording medium and recording an image on the recording medium is provided with a means for judging the state of the recording medium based on the results of communication with the element provided in the recording medium and controls recording operation depending on the judgment results. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
