<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relatively inexpensive lighting system allowing a lighting time to be surely and simply reset, in a lighting system capable of restraining the degradation of the light output of a light source caused by the passage of a lighting time. <P>SOLUTION: This luminaire (lighting system) comprises: a light source 4; a lighting circuit part 2 for supplying power to the light source 4 to light the light source 4; a no-load detection part 5 for detecting a no-load state of the light source 4; and a control part 3 for performing the counting and storing the lighting time of the light source 4, the monitoring of the no-load state, and the storing of no-load detection information to control the output of the circuit part 2 according to the lighting time and the no-load detection information.
