The device has an induction coil (1) and a standalone load switch (2) for adjusting the reactance of the induction coil under load. The induction coil is designed as a standalone heat insulated air-dielectric induction coil. The induction coil is provided with multiple tapping points (4), at which a winding of the induction coil is attached. The switch includes a set of input contacts (8), an output contact (10) and a switching unit (9) connecting one of the input contacts to the output contact. An independent claim is also included for a transformer including an additional device for adjusting the reactance.
