An electric-optical device is provided to become adequate to display units of electronic paper or electronic book, and realize electronic books with display function and indication input function on a screen through a relatively simple configuration. An electric-optical device having an image display period and an information collection period is provided. The electric-optical device includes a panel unit and a data processing unit. The panel unit includes first and second substrates, and electrical optical material(52). The electric- optical material is kept between the first and second substrates. On the first substrate, a plurality of first scan line(10) and a plurality of second scan lines(12) disposed in parallel with the first scan lines, a plurality of signal lines(14), and pixels(16), are arranged. The pluralities of pixels are formed in a matrix shape on the first substrate. Respective pixels positioned on i-row and j-column include first and second transistors and a pixel electrode(48). Agate of the first transistor is coupled to the first scan line of i-row, and any one of source and drain of the first transistor is coupled to a signal line of j-column. A gate of the second transistor is coupled to the second scan line of i-row, and any one of source and drain of the second transistor is coupled to another of source and drain of the first transistor. Another of source and drain of the first transistor is coupled to the pixel electrode.
